Iran selects Western and Arab celebrities for the production of a film portraying the Day of Ashura and the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (a.s.).

'The Day of Judgment' is based on the Day of Ashura, mourning the martyr Imam Hussein (a.s.) along with 72 members of his family and companions at the Battle of Karbala in the year 680 CE.

Imam Hussein is the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.).

The Battle of Karbala is one of the most significant battles in the history of Muslims in which the Shia true leader, Imam Hussein (a.s.), fought the forces of the usurper, Yazid I.

Actors from Syria, Lebanon, England and France are being screened for the production, said executive of the project Hossein Pakdel.
