Iran's 16th national Namaz (prayers) conference started here Thursday morning with a message by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The two-day conference is attended by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and a large number of domestic religious figures.
President Ahmadinejad arrived in Arak, 293 km southern Tehran, this morning on a day-long visit.
Namaz (Muslims way of praying the Lord) has a miraculous effect on salvation of the mankind, said the message, read to the conference by head of Namaz Headquarters, Hojatoleslam Mohsen Qara'ati.
"Namaz is a window to the world of metaphysics through which one can breathe the fresh air of freedom," Ayatollah Khamenei's message added.
The Supreme Leader urged the conference organizers to present Namaz to the young generation in a more appropriate way.
