
1st Islamic prosecutors confab opens in Tehran

The first conference of the prosecutors of capitals of Islamic countries opened in Tehran Wednesday.
Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi is to address the inaugural ceremony of the conference which is hosted by Tehran public prosecutor's office.
Accused's rights in accordance with Islamic law, national law and international treaties and role of prosecutors in establishing sustainable economic, social and cultural security are among topics to be discussed by the participants in the two-day conference.
Besides prosecutors of 56 capitals of Islamic states, executive and judiciary officials, university professors and representatives of certain international bodies are attending the conference.
The conference is being held upon a proposal made by Shahroudi during his recent visits to Malaysia and Indonesia.
