The Islamic Republic of Iran's president in an interview with the American CBS channel pointed to the increasing trend of opposition to the US saying US president George W Bush has no choice but to change his behaviour.
Dr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the root of the Middle East problems is the US meddling. He added the US officials are pursuing vested interests in Occupied Iraq and since they cannot justify their meddling in the region they are trying to accuse others of interfering in Iraq.
He termed the US regime's refusal to hand over Iraq's affairs to the Iraqi people among the blunders that have increased hatred in the region and around the world toward Bush's policies. The US has never seriously thought of peace and security in the Middle East and has only pursued its illegitimate interests in the region by blindly backing the usurper state of Israel. The US harps on democracy for the Middle East but it only creates tension, crisis, sedition and wars in the region as part of its plot to control Middle East oil resources.
In view of these facts, the Iranian president termed the US regime's measures immoral and unprincipled.
He pointed out that no IAEA report has spoken of any diversion in Iran's peaceful nuclear activity. He advised the US regime to change its irrational behaviour and stop its illegal demands concerning Iran's peaceful nuclear activity; warning Washington that its policies will boomerang rather harm the Iranian nation.
Realities also show that world public opinion and even Americans have many questions on the suspicious 9·11 events of New York in 2001.
He questioned the US claim of fighting terrorism, by pointing out to the US secret prisons in Europe and the scandalous tortures at Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo, which are demand probes and answers. Thus under these conditions the US is trying to create a ballyhoo regarding peace-loving countries like Iran to deflect attention from its failures. |
