Colombia and Uruguay have signed a joint communiqué calling for more efforts to promote the process of the integration of Latin America.
The document signed by Colombian Foreign Minister Fernando Araujo and his Uruguayan counterpart Reinaldo Cargano is aimed at promoting the process through various mechanisms.
The two sides said in the communiqué that Uruguay and Colombia hope that all nations concerned strengthen the role of the Union of South American Nations, the Andean Community, the South American Common Market (Mercosur) and the Latin American Integration Association.
The two ministers also said that the international community should advocate fair trade, calling for more efforts to make the Doha Round trade negotiations fruitful.
The two nations also vowed to strengthen cooperation in bilateral trade and immigration, as well as the fight against arms and drugs smuggling. |
