Red Letter Day in Iranian history Tehran, 2007 Nov 4, IRIB
November 4 will be remembered in history long after the United States of America ceases to exist on the political map of the world. Why? Because it was on this day, which coincides with the 13th of the Iranian month of Aban, the arrogantly ignorant White House took the suicidal step of confronting Islam and the timeless teachings of the Holy Quran. In 1963, little did the US think that its barely hidden joy on the carrying out of its orders by its minion in Tehran, the Pahlavi regime, in exiling the Father of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (may his soul rest in peace), will boomerang with a vengeance.
The Yankees are not known for any commonsense. In 1978 when the writing was clear on the wall, and the US could have made amends for its blunder of 15 years ago by sincerely seeking pardon and siding with the aspirations of Iran's Muslim masses, it committed another fatal error. It allowed its minions to massacre Tehran University students peacefully protesting against the Pahlavi potentate under the portrait of their beloved leader, Imam Khomeini.
Still the Iranian people, who on February 1, 1979, accorded a historically unprecedented welcome to Imam Khomeini on his return home from 15 years of exile to throw into the Pahlavi regime into the dustbin of history and to establish the dynamic Islamic Republic system, would have shown magnanimity to the US.
But instead of feeling the least regret for its crimes against humanity the US intensified its plots by totally transforming its embassy in Tehran into an elaborate den of espionage in a bid to overthrow the nascent Islamic system.
In view of these facts, the Iranians, especially the student community, had no other option but to take a revolutionary step to end once and for all American meddling in Iran. Their patience was wearing thin, especially since the interim cabinet, or some of its members, were either not willing to confront the US plots or were accomplices in the designs being hatched against the nation similar to the events of August 1953 when the CIA through a bunch of thugs and mercenaries officers in the Iranian armed forces carried out a coup to topple Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadeq and restore the fugitive Shah to the Peacock Throne.
Thus, the wheel came full circle on November 4, 1979. In a move, which was hailed by that Sage of the Age, Imam Khomeini, as the "Second Revolution" the espionage den was stormed and spies seized in the very act of trying to destroy documented evidence of the US crimes against not just the people of Iran, but against all regional Muslim people.
Thanks to this historic move, which is celebrated every year as the National Day of Campaign against Global Arrogance, nothing has gone well for the US over the past 28 years with every plot ranging from its well-prepared military attack that miraculously floundered in the desert of Tabas to the 8-year war it imposed on Islamic Iran through Saddam in addition to its futile, economic, industrial, cultural and media war. In the meantime, with the Grace of God, the Islamic Republic of Iran has gone from strength-to-strength mastering almost all facets of modern technology including nuclear energy and inspiring the regional and world people to strive to be masters of their own destiny, as is evident from the awakening sweeping Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine and other lands, despite the self-destructive efforts of Washington to occupy these lands.
Without the least doubt, the Iranian people are greatly indebted to the Muslim students following the Imam's line for their independence and national solidarity for taking such a glorious step this day in 1979. |
