Zionist regime's newly appointed War Minister Ehud Barak has termed establishment of peace with Palestinians in the near future as fanciful daydreaming.
An Israeli paper in its Friday, August 10 edition, has said that Ehud Barak considers establishment of peace with Palestinians at least within the next 5 years as impossible. Barak added that Head of the Palestinian self-rule Authority Mahmoud Abbas cannot be trusted and there is no difference between Fatah and Hamas Movements.
Barak, who heads Zionist regime's leftist Labor Party and is the former Zionist regime's premier in late 1990s, had previously squandered raising opportunities in Camp David, derailing the peace process with Palestinians. By pulling out of Oslo peace talks and the agreements reached between Palestinian Liberation Organization and Tel Aviv, Barak further pressed late PLO leader Yasser Arafat. Barak temporarily stepped aside from Israel’s political scene after facing defeat from Ariel Sharon.
Meanwhile, experts believe Barak's recent remarks regarding Abbas being untrustworthy and unfeasibility of establishment of peace with Palestinians is more like an effort to gain concessions and shows that the Zionist regime is taking advantage of Mahmoud Abbas unprincipled and divisive policies.
Head of the Palestinian self-rule Authority, instead of establishing a powerful national unity government and giving a helping hand to the leaders of Resistance Movement Hamas in order to fulfill the neglected rights of Palestinian people, is hand in hand with the Zionist regime's officials, who practically consider him untrustworthy. By turning a blind eye to the bitter experience of Oslo Treaty and a decade of futile talks between Yasser Arafat and his representatives with the Zionist regime's leaders, Mahmoud Abbas has turned his back on the Palestinian people and their elected Hamas-led government. Clearly, Zionist regime's officials, especially Barak, are taking advantage of Abbas divisive policy, while revealing their lack of trust in Abbas as a figure without popular support.
Prior to Barak, former Zionist regime's premier Shimon Perez had also told late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat that establishment of an independent Palestinian country is a fanciful dream.
These allegations go to show that in the viewpoint of Zionist entity establishment of peace is synonymous to Palestinians’ daydreaming. This is a fact that Fatah leaders refuse to deal with.
