As a result of US occupation of Iraq more than 3 million Iraqi women have been widowed and 5 million children orphaned

The continued US occupation of Iraq has had negative consequences for US troops and for Iraqis.
Based on a US military report the continued presence of US troops in war zones like Iraq and Afghanistan has left psychological effects on them. Officials say suicide rates among them have also increased in 2007. But the Iraqi people are living in an even more regrettable situation. They have been tolerating death, homelessness and occupation for the past 5 years.
Statistics show that as a result of the war's violence and terrorism more than 3 million Iraqi women have been widowed and 5 million children orphaned.
The US Brookings Institute had also previously reported the death of 750,000 Iraqis. The UN says there are also more than 2 million Iraqi refugees in Iraq's neighboring countries and this has created problems for these countries. But most importantly as UNICEF says Iraqi children have the worst conditions, suffering from illnesses, violence, malnutrition and lack of educational facilities.
The organization says hundreds of Iraqi children were killed in 2007 .Thus it seems that Iraqi citizens, women and children are the ones paying the heaviest price for the occupation.
Although violence in Iraq has subsided to an extent in recent months, the situation will not get better unless Iraq's occupiers withdraw as soon as possible. Considering Iraq's realities, the country's statesmen are also naturally trying to find a way to restore independence to that country as soon as possible, even though US president George W Bush and his warmongering team resort to any pretext to continue the occupation.
