Participants in a Tehran conference on Palestine called on the international community to try the leaders of the Zionist regime of Israel for their crimes against the Palestinian people.
The two-day conference on the National and Islamic Solidarity for the Future of Palestine concluded in Tehran on Sunday, issuing a 13-paragraph final statement.
The conference was attended by a number of Palestinian groups' officials including Hamas Politburo Chief Khaled Mashaal, the Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Ramadhan Abdullah Shallah and officials of the other Palestinian groups.
In their final statement, the participants condemned the ongoing blockade of the Gaza Strip, construction of the wall of separation, and Israel's efforts to hinder reconstruction of Gaza, and asked all Islamic and Arab states to initiate proper actions to end the Gaza siege and reopen the crossings in the region.
The participants in this conference "call on all the world governments to fulfill their historical responsibility and pursue the case with the trial of the war criminals of the Zionist regime at the International Criminal Court, UN Security Council or any other international tribunal", the statement added.
They also described resistance as the "strategic option of the Islamic Ummah (community)" for restoring Palestinian rights and voiced their support for the Palestinians' right to resist against the Zionist occupiers.
The statement further stressed the need for supporting the Palestinian people and their inalienable rights such as the right to determine their fate, freeing the occupied al-Qods, and the refugees' right of return to their homeland.
It also condemned Judaization of the Palestinian lands, Jewish settlement construction in the occupied al-Qods (Jerusalem) and the surrounding areas, Zionist regime's aggressions and efforts to destroy the al-Aqsa Mosque, and the regime's attempts to evacuate the city (al-Qods) from the Palestinians.
