Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says all freedom-seeking people in world strive for the freedom of Palestine, condemning Israel for committing genocide there.
The existence of the Zionist regime is a big insult to humanity, Ahmadinejad said during a speech in Tehran on Monday.
The president lamented what he termed the "real genocide" going on in Palestine and said Zionist leaders are being awarded Nobel Peace Prizes despite their crimes.
The freedom and liberation of Palestine is a "key issue" today and if the international community joins force they can end this crisis, he said.
The remarks were made during an address to the members of Asia's first humanitarian aid convoy to blockaded Gaza Strip.
The convoy will travel from Iran to Turkey and from there to Syria. It will then head to Egypt, from where it will seek to enter the beleaguered strip.
Israel imposed a blockade on Gaza in June 2007, preventing even basic necessaries from entering the territory. Moreover Tel Aviv launched an all-out onslaught on the costal enclave in December 2008-January 2009, killing more than 1,400 Palestinians.
