
'Mahdaviat Doctrine' Seminar concludes in Tehran
Tehran, 2008 Aug 16, IQNA Speaking at the closing ceremony of the fourth seminar on Mahdaviat Doctrine, Majlis speaker Ali Larijani said that it is among Muslims' obligations during the time of Ghaiba (Occultation) to strive for Islamic rulership and to be vigilant.
He added that the Muslim Ummah's vigilance has brought the West to a standstill.
Larijani noted that the West has no problem with Muslims worshipping God, but it is afraid of Islamic vigilance and Muslims' move toward Islamic rulership.
Next to speak at the closing ceremony was head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization Mahdi Mostafavi, who said that hope in the future and in the ultimate salvation of humanity exists in the teachings of all religions, especially in Shia Islam.
Later in the ceremony, selected research papers on Mahdaviat -- belief in and efforts to prepare for the reemergence of Imam Zaman (May God hasten his glad advent) -- were awarded.
The fourth seminar on Mahdaviat Doctrine was held in Tehran on Thursday and Friday, August 14-15 with the participation of 98 guests from 29 countries.
