Husseini: No comparison between Iran's nuclear activities with other countries
By Ebrahimi Tehran, 2008 July 1, IRIB Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Seyyed Mohammad-Ali Hosseini, said today that the essence of IRI's peaceful nuclear activities is completely different from those of other countries. He made the remarks in response to a question on the US attempts to drew comparison between Iran's peaceful nuclear program with that of North Korea.
Hosseini said comparing Iran's nuclear activities with that of other countries is "wrong".
He added that such comparison is proof of hostility and the disinformation campaign carried out by the Western media. All Iran's peaceful nuclear activities are under the direct supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and are fully based on the rules and regulations of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
He also said Iran holds the usurper state of Israel responsible for the kidnapping of Iranian diplomats in Beirut on July 4, 1982, adding Tehran has repeatedly called on the UN and other world bodies to carry out their humanitarian duty to procure the release of these longest-held hostages who are languishing for the past 26 years in Zionist dungeons.
