Tehran, July 26, IRNA
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Wednesday Iran has a very active interaction with all the world.
"Iran's presence in international circles is very influential," Ahmadinejad said in an interview with Channel 2 of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).
Referring to the government's "innovative stance" on foreign policy, he said, "Exactly like the time the ninth government was established, we have an innovative stance.
"Our literature might change at certain junctures because of certain reasons. It does not, however, mean a change in the government approach."
He pointed to the release of 15 British naval personnel arrested by Iranian forces in Arvand River in the northern part of the Persian Gulf on March 23 for trespassing Iranian territorial waters, saying, "We freed the British naval personnel in the name of the Great Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) while the West insults him."
Ahmadinejad stated that certain Western countries including European states have carried out measures against Iran.
He, however, stressed there are "wise individuals" in Europe.
"Now, they are sorry for such behavior."
The president said the government has good ties with countries in different parts of the world, adding, "Iran's diplomacy pursues issues in regional and international arenas that are demanded by the Iranian nation."
Ahmadinejad added that foreign investment has increased in Iran and that a new wave of innovative measures would begin in the country's diplomacy within the next 3-4 months.
