Ayatollah Kashani says Iranians will not give up nuclear energy
Tehran, 2008 Aug 8, IRNA Substitute Friday prayers leader of Tehran Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani said here Friday that Iranian nation will not give up its peaceful nuclear program under the G5+1 threats.
Delivering his second Friday prayers sermon, Ayatollah Kashani said the G5+1 states hold sessions to issue new sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He said China and Russia have thus far resisted in that connection but they should try more and avoid being influenced by the US and the UK plans.
"The world people are well informed of dirty plans of the US and the UK and are mobilized to confront the two countries' plans; they (the US and the UK) should stop the mischiefs themselves," he said.
He went on to say, "The world expects China and Russia to stand firmly and seriously against the US and Britain and not to allow them (Washington and London) to enforce their dirty plans." Ayatollah Kashani said the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution and all Iranian officials and authorities are unanimously stressing that Iran's nuclear program is for peaceful, scientific, research and industrial purposes.
"Through such anti-Iran charges, they (westerners) only disgrace themselves," he added.
As for the Iran-G5+1 talks in Geneva, Ayatollah Kashani said that in the talks Iran managed to raise its stances explicitly.
"Iran is ready for any talks and taking a legal and right move.
"If the US wants to be present in talks with Iran, its presence should be out of wisdom," he announced.
The Iranian official went on to say that the Islamic Republic of Iran has over the past 30 years proved its intention. "Iran is ready for talks based on mutual respect and in line with rights of the Iranian nation. If the talks are not in favor of Iran's rights, the Islamic Republic of Iran will never reach agreement."
Addressing the G5+1 states, Ayatollah Kashani said, "The (G5+1) countries should not threaten the Iranian nation. The nation will never retreat through such threats. One should move logically. Do not make the world further turbulent."
As for Iraq conditions, Ayatollah Kashani advised the occupiers not to bring more disgrace for themselves as the US is confronted by high religious authorities there.
He asked Muslims to get united because under unity the enemy will never be successful to implement its sinister plans.
