Expansion of ties with Russia strategic

Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said Thursday that all-out expansion of relations between Iran and Russia is a highly strategic plan.
Mottaki said in an address to Iranians residing in Moscow that all capacities and strategies required for expansion of relations with Moscow should be used and possible barriers on the way too should be lifted.
He said Tehran and Moscow had in the course of the 7th Tehran-Moscow Joint Economic Cooperation Commission session on Thursday reached valuable accords for cooperation in transportation, tourism, industries, banking, commercial and energy sectors.
He added that talks are underway with the Russian party for aircraft manufacturing as well as long-term cooperation and support for mutual investment.
"As (Iranian) head of the Iran-Russia Joint Cooperation Commission I emphasize that expansion of relations with Russia in all areas is a well-distinguished strategy," he announced.
The Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia signed five agreements for cooperation in commercial, energy, economic, and transportation sectors, as well as the protocol of the Seventh mutual economic and commercial joint commission session.
