Regional cooperation to neutralise sectarian division: Ahmadinejad

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stated here on Tuesday that vigilance, cooperation and solidarity among the regional states will neutralise plots of division among Shia and Sunni Muslims.
"The Islamic states shall expose the conspiracies of the enemies aiming to sow discord among them and invite all religious groups to calm and vigilance," he told the visiting Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minsiter and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad Sabah Salim Sabah.
"Iran and Kuwait as two neighbouring countries enjoying friendly and historical ties can play an effective role in bringing about security and welfare for the people of Iraq," President Office quoted him saying.
Also reiterating that US and UK are incapable of doing any harm to Iran, President Ahmadinejad said, "The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to defend itself and all friendly and Islamic states of the region".
"Iran is also ready to transfer its pricelss experience and achievements in various fields to the Muslim countries including Kuwait," he added.
The Kuwaiti dignatory referred to the effective role of Iran in the regional and global issues and said that regional contures, Iran and Kuwait, in particular, through their cooperation and consultation can defuse the plots hatched for expansion of violence in Iraq.
Expressing his praise over the prudence of Iranian officials, Sabah said, "Peaceful nuclear technology based on international law and regulations is the right of all countries including Iran.
"Some existing problems could be settled only through
negotiations," he added.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki after meeting his Kuwaiti counterpart said the talks in Tehran were important for serving expansion of bilateral ties.
