Leader's view on national power
By Ebrahimi Tehran, 2008 Aug 10, IRIB The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has referred to commitment to principles, national unity and solidarity, and progress in science and technology as three main factors affecting national strength. In a meeting with Iran's Foreign Ministry officials and Iranian ambassadors and representatives overseas in Tehran the leader added that one of the important issues in the Islamic system's foreign policy is prioritizing the world of Islam and its interests as well as the Islamic Republic of Iran's role and status in the world of Islam.
The Islamic Revolution's victory marked the beginning of the oppressed nations' awareness and as the leader stated, today Islamic Iran is referred to as a regional power or superpower in world political and news circles. This shows that Iran has moved forward in the past 3 decades, by relying on its national unity, ideals and principles. The Iranian people and officials have undoubtedly faced certain obstacles created by the enemy in these 30 years, but calculated policies inside the country and Iran's courageous, wise and committed diplomatic moves on the global scene have paved the way for Islamic Iran's progress.
The Supreme Leader underlined that those active in Iran's foreign policy scene should fully believe in the Islamic system's principles and progress. Extending the Islamic thought has had wide-scale achievements such as creating awareness among Islamic nations that they can resist the system of domination.
The Leader also said, the foreign ministry officials have the important task of reflecting these realities and advancing the country's foreign policy and they must always consider the priority of Islamic countries as well.
