
Earthquake jolts towns in N.Khorassan and Sistan-Baluchestan
Tehran, 2008 Aug 10, IRIB An earthquake measuring 4.1 degrees in Richter scale jolted Sankhast town in North Khorassan province, Iran on Saturday evening.
According to the report of seismography center affiliated to the Tehran University Geophysics Institute, the tremor occurred at 20:35 hours local time (17:05 GMT) and its epicenter was at 37.00 degrees latitude and 56.96 degrees longitude.
Seven hours later an earthquake measuring 4.2 in Richter scale jolted Benet district south of Sistan-Baluchestan province in southeastern Iran.
The tremor occurred at 03:52 hours local time (00:22 GMT) at early Sunday morning. It was epicentered in an area located at 25.64 degrees in latitude and 59.70 degrees in longitude.
There is no immediate report on possible casualties and damage in both areas.
