The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has stressed that the capable Iranian nation, with its faith in God, its scientific and technological achievements, and its wisdom and determination, will continue to stand up for its rights.

In a meeting on Saturday 22 September afternoon with the heads of the three branches of the Iranian government, as well as other senior government officials, ministers and civil servants, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei referred to continued threats by Iran's enemies, and emphasized that those who threaten Iran must realize that it is impossible to carry out a "hit and run" attack on Iran, and if they carry out an unwise aggression against the Islamic Republic, they will have to deal with the very serious repercussions of such an action.

In further comments, the Supreme Leader said the reason the enemies keep repeating their threats is to discourage and dishearten the Iranian people and officials, but the Iranian people and the Iranian government are never intimidated, and much to the surprise of the enemies, will heighten their readiness to confront all eventualities.

Elsewhere in his remarks Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said continuing threats from Iran's enemies is really a sign of their intellectual bankruptcy and illogical approach.

The Leader added that the Islamic Republic of Iran today is based upon intellect, logic and spirituality, but Iran's enemies and so-called Western liberal democracies, are rather like an uncouth and illiterate human being, who when is confronted by a learned person, can only show off his muscles and brute strength.

Pointing to the enemies efforts to portray the Islamic system of government as inefficient and dysfunctional, the Supreme Leader emphasized that the Iranian nation must have self-confidence, and believe in its scientific and technological abilities, and must guard its Islamic identity, and strengthen democracy; all of this pointing to the very efficient and functional system of Islamic government in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In the beginning of the meeting, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad delivered a report on the Administration's records in the preceding Iranian year, saying that in the cultural sector, the cabinet had focused on the promotion of the platform of the Islamic Revolution.

At the end of the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei led the dusk and night prayers in congregation and then the participants broke their fast alongside him.
