 Taskhiri highlights role of Islamic governments

Islamic centers and governments play a crucial role in establishing institutes to promote affinity among Muslims.
Expressing this, Secretary General of World Assembly for Proximity among Islamic Schools of Thoughts (WAPIST) Mohammad Ali Taskhiri said at the inaugural ceremony of a seminar on Muslims' unity in the 'Year of Innovation and Prosperity', which is underway in Kabul, Afghanistan, that all religions are taking steps to promote Islam.
Pointing to the historical development of Islamic religions following the death of the Noblest Messenger of Allah Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), he elucidated that coordinated activity for illuminating and promoting the culture of affinity among Muslims are the most important roles of scholars today.
Speaking at the same gathering, Burhanuddin Rabbani, former Afghan president said that the prudence of Shii scholars, particularly those in Afghanistan and Lebanon, has prevented many of the discords.
In addition to these scholars, politicians should take essential steps to strengthen unity among the Muslims, he urged.
Head of Afghan Islamic Brotherhood Council Ayatollah Asaf Mohseni said that unity and national sovereignty will be materialized in the wake of Islamic brotherhood.
The two-day event is being attended by more than 500 Muslim scholars and thinkers from the Islamic Republic of Iran, Egypt, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon and America.
Topics for discussion at the ongoing event in Kabul include development of affinity in Afghanistan and foundations of affinity in the Quran and Sunna.
