
Kashani slams US proposed security pact with Iraq
Tehran, 2008 June 13, IRIB The substitutional Friday prayers leader of Tehran, Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani condemned the American proposed security pact with Iraq and termed it as a dangerous and ignominious move in the history of the Iraqi nation.
Pointing to the contents of the pact, Ayatollah Kashani said that in relation to Iraq's sovereignty, some of articles in the security pact were dangerous and unprecedented.
He warned the Iraqi government and nation that if they accept the pact, it would be a disgrace for them and the next generation would try them.
"The pact allows the American forces and private companies to do military and security moves anywhere in Iraq and the Irqai Judiciary has no right to try them," he added.
Addressing the Iraqi nation, Ayatollah Emami Kashani said, "You, the great nation of Iraq, have a big responsibility and you should stand firmly in this regard. The great Ayatollah Sistani has announced that he would not let the pact be signed."
The Alim urged all political leaders of Iraq to stand against such a danger and not fear for their lives. He said the issue is not only limited to Iraq and all Islamic countries and Muslim Ulema should support Iraq in this concern.
Pointing to American President Bush's trip to Europe and his remarks over Iran, Ayatollah Kashani said they strengthen the usurper Zionist regime while the former politicians of the same regime have considered it as a threat to the whole region.
