Deputy Minister of Trade, Faraji, asserted that the value of carpets exported this year has risen by US$400 million.
He added that at present Iran is ahead of other countries in export of carpet and most of IRI's carpets are exported to the European countries, Japan, Russia and South Africa.
The head of Iran's National Carpet Center also saud that about two million weaversn are working on one million carpet looms avaliable in Iran and 70 percent of their products are sent abroad. He added that 120,000 of these workers have been granted insurance.
