Qom, 2008 March 14, IQNA
A conference titled "Islamic solidarity" was held in the Hojjatieh School, in the holy city of Qom on Esfand 23(March 13).
Addressing the Islamic Solidarity Confab, Ayatollah Mohammad-Ali Taskhiri, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) noted that all Islamic governments should take the Islamic solidarity into consideration as an overall and strategic direction.
"Diminutive notional differences among Islamic sects are completely normal and we should not permit these differences get expanded and turn into corruption, Takfir (the practice of declaring unbeliever), and agitation among nations", the grand Ayatollah added.
Ayatollah Mohammad-Ali Taskhiri further said that lack of familiarity with other schools of thought and the proper perceptions of principles of the Islamic tenets are the biggest obstacles hindering the consolidation of solidarity among nations.
The conference was held with the aim of declining the current tensions among schools of thought in the Islamic world.
