Tehran, 2008 Jan 29, MNA
The offices of Iranian cultural attaché in various countries will celebrate Iran's Ten-Day Dawn, which is held annually from February 1 to 11 in commemoration of the anniversary of the victory of Iran's Islamic Revolution of 1979.
Programs will be held over the ten days to introduce overseas Iranians, particularly third generation residents of foreign countries, to the glory of the Islamic Revolution, the director of Iran's Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Mehdi Mostafavi, said at a press conference in Tehran on January 28.
Such events inform scholars, Orientalists, Iranologists, and citizens of other nations about the achievements of the Islamic Revolution, he added.
Cultural and artistic exhibitions showcasing photos and documentary films will be held in New Zealand, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Britain and several other places, he said.
Mostafavi noted that Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) will provide extensive coverage of the events and Iranian cultural attachés will give interviews to foreign media outlets to provide an accurate image of Iran's Islamic Revolution.
In addition, foreign experts on Iran's Islamic Revolution will be interviewed at some Iranian embassies.
The offices of Iranian Cultural attachés will also hold poetry, prose, and painting competitions on the theme of the achievements of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. They will also screen Iranian films and host musical performances, meetings, and book fairs during the ten days.
About 800 Iranology books in English, German, Arabic, and French, featuring pictures from Iran, over 1000 Iranian handicrafts, and about 1400 Iranian traditional music CDs will be sent to Iranian embassies throughout the world.
