
Rafsanjani: Women gaining progress in post-Islamic Revolution
Tehran, 2008 Mar 12, IRNA Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said here Wednesday that there has been enormous grounds for women's progress and development after triumph of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
Rafsanjani told a group of members of the Society of Enlightened Muslim Women that higher education and the scientific, cultural and social progress of women have been enough for their high social position.
He said the path Iranian women have been trodden in Iranian community is irreversible and drastic and well-calculated plans should be devised in tune with spacio-temporal exigencies for their future status.
He said elections too have been one of the stages women made presence and they are expected to vote to the faithful, independent, competent, wise and aware individuals on March 14.
He said vigilance, patience and hard work are the keys to women's success.
