On the latest developments in Afghanistan, Ahmadinejad said Tehran is interested in establishment of peace, security in the independent war-torn neighboring state.

Referring to the upcoming presidential elections in the United States (November), the Iranian president said Tehran welcomes a democratic government in Washington which would be elected freely and would move on the basis of justice.

"If the next US government adopts hegemonic policies, it will share the same fate of President George W. Bush administration," he said.
