IRI ready for unconditional talks
Tehran, 2007/05/30, IRIB The Islamic Republic of Iran on Wednesday voiced readiness to hold talks on its peaceful nuclear technology without any preconditions to remove ambiguities.
Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani made the remark while speaking to reporters prior to his departure for Spain.
"Tehran is ready to remove the West's concerns over its peaceful nuclear program, of course, if the concerns are not a pretext," Larijani said.
The SNSC Secretary is to hold the second round of his talks with the EU Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana in Madrid on Thursday.
"Previous experiences and paths have shown suspension (of uranium enrichment) is not acceptable. Suspension is not the solution (to the ongoing standoff over IRI's peaceful nuclear program)," the top nuclear negotiator added.
The SNSC Deputy Secretary for International Affairs Javad Vaeedi and Deputy Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) for International Affairs Mohammad Saeedi are accompanying Larijani in his Spain visit.
