
Hong Kong welcomes active presence of Iranian firms in the SAR
Hong Kong, 2008 Feb 16, IRNA A senior economic official of Hong Kong on Saturday welcomed further active presence of Iranian companies in the SAR.
Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Frederick Ma Si-hang and Iran's Consul General in Hong Kong Abdollah Nekounam discussed promotion of bilateral economic cooperation.
Ma said exchange visits of economic delegations between Iran and Hong Kong would help further familiarity with economic potentials of the two sides.
He stressed the need for promotion of bilateral cooperation in the fields of tourism and making joint investments.
The Iranian side, for his part, briefed Ma on Iran's high economic potentials.
Nekounam voiced Iran's readiness for further economic cooperation with Hong Kong referring to the latter as a major economic hub and a gate to international trade for China.
