NATO, EUFOR launch hunt for Karadzic
Athens, 2007 Nov 23, Press TV
EUFOR and NATO troops search for leads on Bosnia's most wanted war crimes suspect, Radovan Karadzic, in his family member's homes.
According to Major David Fielder, the spokesman for the European Union Force (EUFOR), troops began the search simultaneously at 5 a.m. Friday at the homes of Karadzic's wife and children, looking for evidence that may reveal his whereabouts.
Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic, his military commander, were indited by the UN war Crimes tribunal for genocide and other crimes, including the 1995 slaughter of around 8,000 Muslim men and boys in Srebrenica, Bosnia.
Mladic is believed to be hiding in Serbia; there have been no signs of Karadzic's location for years.
Due to a network of supporters who keep financing and otherwise facilitating their hiding, numerous bootless raids and manhunts have resulted the suspects' evasion of justice for the last 11 years.
