US is behind Taliban attacks in Pakistan

The United States is behind the recent surge in Taliban activities and terrorist attacks in Pakistan, an Afghan official has said.
“The US has adopted a new policy of encouraging the Taliban to engage in clashes with Pakistani troops in a bid to reduce the militants' activities in Afghanistan,” an Afghan official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told the IRIB.
Meanwhile a Pakistani security official said that as Taliban insurgents receive their logistical support from militants in Pakistan, by inciting clashes between Taliban guerillas and Pakistani forces in Afghanistan, Washington is seeking to cut the logistical support for the Taliban in Afghanistan.
He added that in this way the US would be able to reduce the pressure on NATO and US troops in Afghanistan. The strategy might also weaken the Taliban to the point that it is forced to end its attacks against the coalition troops, the official concluded.
