While talking to IRNA in a telephone interview from Vishakhapatnam, the port city of Andhra Pradesh, he said: "It makes no sense in talking to the regime which is occupying the Palestinian land. Zionists must withdraw from Palestine and respect Palestinian's rights."

Condemning the delegation, made up of several Indian personalities including few Muslims, he added that nobody in India recognizes such traitors and they do not enjoy any respect among the Indian Muslims.

According to Azmi, the members of the delegation were looking for their own selfish and financial interests.

Mujahid Husain, a Shia scholar from Hyderabad, speaking on the issue, said, "The visit was an American initiative to help Israel.

"The discussions with Israel do not make any sense if they are not based on equality. Israel does not recognize Palestinians' rights nor respects any UN resolutions on Palestine."

"If the talks are not based on a mutual respect they are doomed to fail. If such people (Indian delegation) are bowing down to Israel for their own greedy interests they are trampling on the Palestinians' rights, the act which the Indian community will not tolerate," he said.

Another scholar Arshi Khan an Associate Professor at Political Science Department of Aligarh Muslim University, while opposing the visit to Israel by the Indian delegation, said, "It would be counterproductive and harmful to India and the Muslims world over, particularly, those in the Middle East."

"That was neither an educational nor a civil society visit, it was politically motivated act by US and its stooges."

He expressed shock over the visit and said, "How anybody could are to talk to a terrorist regime which is occupying the Palestinian land and killing hundreds of people in Palestine and Lebanon and call them terrorist who were thrown out of their houses and till date are suffering from the Zionist occupiers' heinous crimes and plots. Israel has made the entire region of Middle East tense by making the situation more explosive by its supporters and mentors' the US presence in the region. "

After destroying Afghanistan and Iraq now the Americans are eyeing ran on different pretexts, Arshi concluded.

Mohammad Aslam Naqavi the leader of Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Aligarh, also condemned this visit and termed the members of the delegation as US agents who were pursuing their own financial interests.

On the Muslim members of the delegation, he said, "They must try to improve condition of mosques and concentrate on Indian Muslims education and literacy instead of visiting the Zionists as part of `Friendship Committee' initiated, manipulated and executed by the US. And the whole game was to legitimize the Palestine occupying regime among the Indian masses."

He concluded by saying that CPI(M) is consistently opposing the American tactics to trap India into the nuclear deal.

Indian government is completely under American influence and the fact is that India is the biggest market in Asia.

Americans, in fact, are supporting India to contain the economic and technical growth of China and, therefore, they are hatching a plot to pitch India against China in future.
