
Taskhiri to talk on the "Unity of Islamic Ummah" in IIU, Islamabad
Islamabad, 2008 Apr 12, IRIB Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, Secretary General of World Assembly for Proximity among the Islamic Schools of Thought, will pay a 5-day visit to Pakistan, Iran's embassy said on Friday.
Taskhiri will address a seminar on the "Unity of Islamic Ummah" in the International Islamic University, Islamabad.
He will also visit the cities of Peshawar and Lahore to meet the leading religious scholars of Pakistan.
Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri has served on several highest positions in the Islamic Republic of Iran and has also taught at several prestigious educational institutions.
He has written almost 50 books and over 350 articles published in Farsi and Arabic languages. Several of them have been translated in Urdu and English languages.
More than 200 journals and newspapers have covered his articles and interviews all over the world. He has participated in 650 Farsi and Arabic radio and television programs in Iran and Arab countries.
He has represented Iran in more than 200 international conferences and seminars.
The World Assembly for Proximity among the Islamic Schools of Thought has been established to promote unity and proximity among the Islamic schools of thought in the Islamic countries.
