Some 77 international top reciters of the holy Quran including 49 men and 28 women had participated in the six-day competition which ended Thursday in the presence of high-ranking Malaysian officials.
Iranian Quran reciter, Hossein Rostami Tabrizi, was awarded at the 48th International Quran Recitation Competition as the leading reciter of the holy Quran in Malaysia.
Tabrizi, who was also placed first in the Quranic competitions of Indonesia last year, was selected among reciters from 50 Muslim nations such as South Africa and Malaysia.
