Tehran, 2006/02/28, IRNA
The life stories of 36,000 school children martyred during the eight-year Iraq-Iran war is being compiled by the Union of Islamic Pupils' Associations, the English-language daily 'Iran Daily' wrote on Tuesday.
Under the project, three- or five-member teams comprising students of member associations go to the homes of martyrs to gather their life stories, particularly on aspects so far undisclosed in their lives, the daily added quoting IRNA's Persian service.
As reported by IRNA, the secretary of the union, Hamid Aqaei, said that the students have been conducting interviews with comrades or acquaintances of the martyrs.
He noted that their interviews were being filmed and recorded.
He said the selfless acts of bravery carried out by the martyrs were being researched from various sources by the teams, adding that the first phase of the project would wrap up on March 11.
Aqaei, who disclosed that biographies of 2,312 student martyrs have already been completed, said that compilation of the life stories of all student martyrs is the aim of this project.
