The international seminar “Holy Quran and Contemporary World” will be held in the historical Iranian city of Isfahan from Nov. 22-24.
Hojjatoleslam Ali Birjandi-Rezaii, who is in charge of the seminar, said in a press conference here Tuesday that the gathering aims to introduce the potentials hidden in the Holy Quran and prepare the ground for researchers.
He added a ceremony to commemorate Quran researcher of the 11th century Sheikh Ragheb Isfahani will be held on the sidelines of the seminar.
"Quran as the last revelation of God is life-giving. It is the most comprehensive book which meets man’s needs, reduces fears and pains, and helps man rid of external and internal boundaries," Birjandi-Rezaii opined.
The seminar was initiated by the director of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the officials of Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), and the head of Qom Islamic Ideology Dissemination Department, he said.
Several experts on Quranic and social, political, and economic issues are to get together to organize the seminar, said the cleric, adding interviews with scientific experts and Quran researchers are also arranged during the seminar.
He added exhibitions of the Holy Quran and Quran-themed magazines and artworks will be also held.
