Muslim leaders condemn the recent crimes of the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip
Muslim leaders on Monday condemned the Zionists' crimes in Gaza Strip and underscored support of all Muslim states for the oppressed Palestinian nation.
"Today, the Zionists have put the people of Gaza under heavy pressure," Iran's President Ahmadinejad said in a telephone conversation with King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia on Monday evening underlining the need for holding an urgent foreign ministerial meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).
For his part, King Abdullah urged international bodies to support the Palestinian people.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt in another telephone conversation also called for acceleration of lifting of Gaza siege.
The two presidents underscored the need for helping the innocent Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip in treatment of the injured.
"Our responsibility gets heavier whenever one more Palestinian is martyred," President Ahmadinejad said adding, "The time is ripe for assisting the Palestinians to survive this intolerable situation."
He further underlined the need for cooperation of all Muslim states regarding the Palestinian issue.
Briefing his Iranian counterpart on the latest developments in Gaza, President Mubarak called for rapid dispatch of foodstuff, fuel and medicine to the people of Gaza.
Earlier, Algerian president Abdelaziz Bouteflika welcomed the proposal of his Iranian counterpart and strongly condemned the crimes and atrocities of the Zionist regime. He said Algeria will spare no efforts to join Iran in rendering any kind of support to the Palestinian nation.
The Zionist criminals have indulged in massacre and carnage in Gaza Strip recently.
