Dubai Police Chief: US created al-Qaeda
Dubai, 2007 Nov 22, Press TV

Lt. Gen. Dhahi Khalfan Tamim
A top UAE police commander has said that the United States had played a key role in the creation of al-Qaeda terrorist organization.
"We (Arabs) are charged with terrorism no matter how much we try to reassure them (the Americans)," Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Dubai's Police Chief said.
Tamim added the change in the US attitude to Arabs since the September 11 attacks, together with the invasion of Iraq and a perceived clash of civilizations with the West, has fomented radicalism in the Middle East region.
Referring to the US role in helping Osama bin Laden's activities, Tamim said, "You (Washington) created the Satan. Western experts taught the al-Qaeda forerunners how to make and explode bombs."
The police chief noted that the 9/11 attacks were a big crime that could not go unpunished. Yet, he did not justify the current attitude towards Muslims in the West nor the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq. |
