Disavowal of Disbelievers Ceremony marked in Arafaat Plain
Arafaat, 2007 Dec 18, IRIB The ritual marking Disavowal of Disbelievers was held today morning in the Plain of Arafaat near Makkah Tuesday December 18 attended by tens of thousands of Iranian Hajj pilgrims. The pilgrims denounced the US and the illegal Zionist entity as the enemies of Islam and humanity during the ceremony presided over by the Supreme Leader's representative for Hajj affairs, Hojatoleslam Mohammad Mohammadi Reyshahri. "God is Great", "There is no deity but Allah", "Death to Israel" and "Death to America" reverberated in the Plain of Arafaat, some 20 km from Makkah, where the pilgrims are stationed till sunset on Tuesday as part of the Hajj rituals.
The faithful, men clad in two-piece seamless white shrouds and women all covered except for their hands and faces to symbolize equality, converged on Arafaat by bus and on foot from Makkah.
The Supreme Leader's message for the Hajj pilgrims was read by Reyshahri during the ceremony.
A resolution was read at the end of the rally urging world Muslims to unite against their avowed enemies. Today afternoon the pilgrims are reciting the famous Supplication of Imam Hussain (a.s.) in the Plain of Arafaat before moving to Muzdalefa to spend the night on their way to the tent city of Mena tomorrow morning.
