Al-Khalil, 2008 Aug 9, IRIB Palestinian minister of religious affairs and charity condemned Zionist settlers' move to attack on the sacred shrine of Ibrahim (a.s.) in the city of al-Khalil.
Sheikh Jamal Bavatene slammed the action as an insult to Hazrat Ibrahim's sacred shrine. "They did it to increase their dominance over the only part of al-Khalil which is left to us, and they are sure of the incapability and indolence of the Arab governments," added Bavatene.
He urged Mahmoud Abbas and Salam Fayadh to help reveal the Zionist regime's atrocities to the world. He also appealed to the people of the world to protect Palestinians against Zionists' savagery.
Fifty armed Zionist settlers tried to enter the Ibrahim's shrine, which belongs to Muslims, but security guards stopped them.
