An aide to the Palestinian people-elected Prime Minister Ismail Haniya on Saturday warned against the secret negotiation channels between Olmert and Abbas.
Ahmed Yousef, Haniya's political advisor, told media that Abbas "must recognize that Hamas' light is the only way for him to get out from the series of dark tunnels he walks in."
Yousef said his remarks were in response to information he got that Abbas and Olmert have set a backdoor channel "to look for proposals of political solution."
"These secret channels aim at cooking stances and policies in order to make decision in the shadow of the Palestinian understanding's absence," Yousef added.
Abbas and Olmert have had regular meeting recently.
"Abbas loses his legitimacy if he exceeded the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC), or parliament," said Yousef.
Yousef explained that Hamas rejects such kinds of negotiations "because the Palestinians were always the weak side in such equation and these agreements boost the occupation and what has imposed of facts."
He also considered the secret talks as a bid to save the three leaders, Abbas, Olmert and American President George W. Bush, "who lean on each other in a position where their nations can not accept."
"Olmert can not make any concession and Bush is disloyal to his promises and is facing elections so he can't compel any solution on the international community nor 'Israel'," Yousef denounced.
