
Qatari center to launch Quran interpretation through body language courses

The socio-cultural department of the Center for the Deaf in Qatar is to launch Quran interpretation through body language courses.
According to Doha-based Al-Sharq daily, Ali Obeid Al-Settari, head of the executive council of Socio-cultural department of the Center for the Deaf in Qatar said that the plan, which is the initiative of Qatar's Owqaf Ministry,is aimed at promoting Islamic and religious teachings among the hearing-impaired.
"This is for the first time that such innovative plan is to be carried out in the Islamic countries of the region," he said and added, "based on the plan, Quran interpretation and Friday prayer sermons will be presented to the hearing-impaired through body language in one of Doha mosques."
"Coordination sessions have been arranged to facilitate perfect implementation of the plan," he went on to say.
"By logging on to www.qdeaf.org, the hearing-impaired can enjoy the live coverage of Quran interpretation sessions and Friday Prayer sermons in body language," he added.
Referring to the special programs of the center during the holy month of Ramadhan, Al-Settari said that the center is preparing a special course to teach memorization of small Surahs of the holy Quran for teenagers with hearing problems.
