Supreme Leader gives message on Sammara blast
Tehran, 2007/06/14, IRNA
Iran's Supreme Leader in a message issued on Thursday condoled with Muslims on the tragic event of the blast in the holy shrine in Sammara, Iraq, and referred to the intelligence services of the Zionists and the occupying forces as the main culprits.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in his message called on the Muslim ulema and all Muslims especially Iraqi Shia and Sunni Muslim people to stay vigilant against the dangerous policy of the enemies who wish to sow discord among them and keep close ranks.
Ayatollah Khamenei remarked that this repeated horrendous crime in the holy place perpetrated by the conpirators, once again inflicted a serious harm to the Muslim community. He said that those who are bent on stirring up factional wars in Iraq and engaging people in religious conflicts have committed such a sacreligious act to bring sorrow to the Muslim world.
The Supreme Leader said in his message that the wicked and cruel people who have perpetrated such a heinous crime, whether remaining followers of the Saddam's Baath regime or beguiled and begoted Wahabites, are undoubtedly led by intelligence services of the Zionists and the occupying forces. He added that the occupying forces try to set the ground for the terrorists to arouse troubles and conflicts in order to weaken the popular government of Iraq and to justify their illegal presence in Iraq.
Calling on all Muslims around the world to calm and unity, the Supreme Leader said Muslims should be aware of the enemies' plots and avoid factional and religious discords. He also called on the Sunni ulema to condemn this crime and the Shia scholars to invite the followers of the Prophet's progeny to keep calm and tranquility.
