Kuwait City, 2008 Jan 22, IRNA
The Kuwaiti government on Tuesday condemned the Zionist occupation regime for indulging in violence in which over 40 Palestinians were killed and 80 others wounded since January 16.
Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Muhammad Sabah al-Salim as-Sabah said that the Kuwaiti government and nation strongly condemn the aggressions and crimes being perpetrated by the Zionist regime against people in Gaza Strip.
He said that Zionist regime has committed war crimes against humanity.
"What the Zionist regime has done in the occupied territories of Palestine are blatant violation of Article 73 the United Nations Charter and Geneva Convention of 1949, adding that the Zionist regime is a symbol of international law breaker," the Kuwaiti deputy prime minister said.
He said that since beginning of the new wave of Zionist violence in Gaza, and the occupied territories, the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry summoned ambassadors of the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council to express outrage over the human tragedy in Gaza.
"The Kuwaiti government urged the ambassadors to convey Kuwaiti concern to their respective governments," as-Sabah said.
Doctors at al-Shifa Hospital, Gaza City, told IRNA that all the wounded admitted to the hospital on January 16 have lost their limbs indicating that the Zionist regime used cluster bombs in its invasion of Gaza. |
