Israelis kill unarmed Palestinian
Gaza City, 2008 July 10, PressTV Israeli forces have killed an unarmed Palestinian in the southern Gaza Strip despite an Egypt-mediated truce deal agreed by both sides.
Israeli army said the troops opened fire on the Palestinian near Kissufim in the Gaza strip. Palestinians confirmed the death.
"At around 3 o'clock an army force identified a suspicious person crossing the fence from Gaza into Israel near Kissufim. The force called on him to stop and fired warning shots but he did not stop and the soldiers fired at him and killed him," AFP quoted an Israeli army spokesman as saying.
"When they approached his body they saw he was unarmed," he said.
A ceasefire between Hamas and the Israeli regime came into effect on June 19, following Egypt's efforts to broker the truce deal.
Israel, however, has violated the truce in numerous occasions since it was implemented.
