Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi on Tuesday 4 January in answering questions from a delegation of Saudi reporters said that the Zionist regime has exploited the international campaign against terrorism for making the important subject of Palestine a secondary issue. In the meantime, he regretted that the
Muslims have been exposed to Islamophobia since 2001.
He said that the US and Israel have turned their national concerns
to international concern and are exerting pressure on the Islamic
nations misusing the international campaign against terrorism and
human rights. The US conservatives have adopted ideological approach to international affairs endangering peace and security of the international community.
Asefi said that under current circumstances, the Islamic nations should exercise solidarity and coordination to resolve the problems of the Muslim world and Palestine on the top.
He gave warning to the sceptical provocations aiming to sow
discord among the Muslims and said that such elements do not believe in the interest of both Shi’ite or Sunnis Muslims.
"They have problem with Islam itself," Asefi said.
On Iranian policy to build confidence with the international community, Asefi cited Iran’s confidence building over the nuclear case saying that at the same time Iran sees acquiring nuclear technology its legitimate right.
