Iranian president Seyed Mohammad Khatami Wednesday 12 January in Abuja, Nigeria said in response to an intellectual’s question, that "occupying a country equals insulting the wisdom of a nation, but no one was saddened due to collapse of Saddam’s, or Taliban’s regimes, because both Iraq and Afghanistan were the cradles of oppression, terrorism, regional instability, and narcotic drugs trafficking."
The Iraqi and Afghan nations must succeed in exerting their national will in ruling their countries, he said.
He reiterated, "US presence in Iraq bears losses for the American nation and instability for the Iraqi region, while posing a big insult against the Iraqi and regional nations." |
