Former Afghan interim government's minister of planning hit out at the "disastrous" reconstruction process in Afghanistan.
Ramadhan Bashardoust, Kabul 17 April, the interim Afghan minister raged at western government's claims on rebuilding procedure in a rare move at a park in public where he described the allegations as a "blunder".
Bashardoust, who has stepped down in protest to the embezzlement of foreign aides and graft between some Afghan officials and foreign institutes active in Afghanistan, criticized the performance of some countries and their companies affiliated in the lucrative but low quality reconstruction process in Afghanistan.
An American company, he said as an instance, had spent US$700 a kilometre in the construction of Kabul-Kandahar road, while minor companies put the price at US$140.
He also criticised the jerry-built state administration buildings and bridges botched by US companies, which increases fear of collapse and possible human loss.
Bashardoust also assailed the Afghan-origin US ambassador to Kabul Zalmay Khalilzad and ruled out his claims on spending US$2.5b for Afghan reconstruction.
