Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi met in Tehran on Tuesday July 5 with the families of four Iranian diplomats abducted in Lebanon.
On July 5, 1982 during a preplanned plot 4 Iranian diplomats in Lebanon were kidnapped by the mercenary forces of the Zionist regime. Since that day the fate of these individuals has been shrouded in ambiguity and contradictory information and news has been published in this regard.
Twenty three years ago Seyed Mohsen Mousavi, Iran’s Charge d’Affaires in Lebanon, and 3 of his co-workers Iranian military attaché Ahmad Motevaselian, diplomat Taghi Rastegar Moqaddam and IRNA photographer Kazem Akhavan while on their way to work, being escorted by Lebanese police, were stopped at a checkpoint in northern Lebanon by the pro-US Christian Phalangist militia, and taken to an unknown place. This measure took place under conditions when the Zionist regime had begun a wide scale aggression against Lebanon in 1982.
