The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei says mosques which primarily serve as a link between followers of the Muslim faith and Almighty God are also among major centers of social and political decision-making in Islamic communities.
Ayatollah Khamenei made the comment at a meeting Sunday August 21 with a number of scholars who are in Tehran to participate in a gathering on mosques, adding detailed planning and cultural tools are needed to boost the spiritual attraction of the houses of worship.
Recalling the sensitive times the Muslim world is facing, the Leader said the fact that enemies of the Muslim faith have once in the past set fire to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Beit-ul-Muqaddas (Jerusalem) shows arrogant powers go out of their way to kill all manifestations of Islamic identity who are quite rich in mosques and other places of worship.
Ayatollah Khamenei further said the attempts of the United States and the Zionist regime to eliminate the popularity of Islam with nations have all failed, adding continued reliance on faith will definitely bring about ultimate victory for all Islamic nations.
