The victory of the Islamic Revolution created opportunity for manifestation of Quranic teachings in practice, an internationally known Iranian Quran reciter told IQNA.
Seyyed Morteza Sadat Fatemi told IQNA that before the revolution Quranic activities were superficial and just a formality.
“The country’s officials then not only did not act upon Quranic injunctions, their actions would actually run counter to Islamic and Quranic principles,” he said. “But the Islamic Revolution was formed based on the Quran and the late Imam Khomeini and later Ayatollah Khamenei, both devotees of the Quran, became its leaders.”
He added that after the victory of the revolution, Quranic activities developed in the country with different programs, festivals and competitions held every year.
Mr. Fatemi noted, however, that a lot more needs to be done especially in the filed of Quranic education.
